About Us

Abbit Management was founded in 1980 to provide investors with personalized, fee-based portfolio management. Located in Grand Haven, Michigan, our client base extends throughout the Midwest.

Abbit has developed strong working relationships with numerous brokerage firms and banks. These relationships enable Abbit to offer superior custodial services and contain cost for our clients. Our access to real-time quotes and news covering all major exchanges, ensures every trade is executed at the best possible price.

We have developed superior quarterly reports and statements that we think are among the finest in the industry. Generating custom reports for each investor that are both easy to read and understand is just one way that we reinforce our commitment to personalized service.

Text Box: Jim has been affiliated with Abbit Management Corp since 1987 and currently is co-owner serving as its president. Jim is a licensed funeral director and focuses the majority of his work toward the Master Escrow Trust. A 1969 graduate of Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Degree. Married to Sharon since 1966 with two sons David and Nathan, one daughter Kimberly Sue who died in 1983 and four grandchildren. Jim enjoys traveling, boating, golf and volunteering with various service organizations.

Text Box: Joseph E. Risselade, co-owner of Abbit Management Corp. Joe has been involved in the investment industry for twenty one years, sixteen of them with Abbit Management Corp. He graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in finance. Series 7 Licensed, Joe enjoys working with numbers and finds talk about the yield curve interesting. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, working in the yard and spending time with his family.

Text Box: Julie has been with Abbit Management Corp since 2002 and spends her time making sure everything runs smoothly with the Master Escrow Trust as well as the day to day operations of the office. Julie came to Abbit after spending 14 years in various positions with Old Kent (Fifth Third) Bank, and has a Bachelors degree from Grand Valley State University.

Text Box: Sandy joined Abbit Management Corp in January 2000. She fulfilled a 25 year financial career with National City Bank in Muskegon, positions ranging from Trust Operations; Retail Banking-Management and Sales. Sandy loves to walk the beautiful Grand Haven Boardwalk on her lunch hour. Other interests include: down hill skiing, biking and travel.
