The Decision-Making Process

At Abbit Management Corp, the decision-making process is thorough, systematic, and disciplined. Strategic investment planning should encompass long-term goals while allowing for flexibility and rapid movement. This strategy evolves from a comprehensive examination of trends in the financial markets and the current economic environment. Weekly and daily internal meetings are held to take advantage of market opportunities within the confines of the longer term strategy.
Abbit utilizes many people and organizations for economic, technical and financial analysis. We believe the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of various securities are placed in better perspective in this fashion rather that reliance on one individual or group of security analysts.
This information then becomes the data base from which we identify securities and rank them for performance potential, degree of undervaluation, and risk. Our own analysis and evaluation techniques employ many of the same procedures familiar to the corporation that is about to make an acquisition or undertake a significant capital expenditure.
Abbit is particularly sensitive to avoiding market risks. The timely sale of securities carries as much significance as do timely purchases. We do not hesitate to liquidate a holding if its potential for appreciation has diminished relative to other securities, or if the risk associated with a security has been negatively altered.
Securities held are examined and evaluated on a daily basis, as market conditions dictate, to take advantage of by/hold/sell situations. The latest in electronic technologies provides real-time prices of securities which allows immediate security trading when opportunities present themselves.
Finally, and most importantly, we meet frequently with our clients in order to understand their unique requirements and objectives. The investment temperament, income level, liquidity requirements, stability of value, and actuarial assumptions are a few of the factors considered in the determination of the strategic approach to each portfolio. Each managed account is individually structured in accordance with these requirements and objectives.
